How does the Smart Charging Plan work?

Your energy, under control: schedule charges, access discounts and check your movements, wherever you are.
  • Become a customer

    Sign up for the Smart Charging Plan to enjoy your scheduled charges at €0.05/kWh (excluding taxes).
  • Configure your charges in the Advanced Smart Assistant.

    After signing up for the service, access the Advanced Smart Assistant from the Iberdrola Clientes app and add your compatible vehicle according to the list available in the Requirements section of the Frequently Asked Questions. Customise your charges by indicating the desired battery level and the time you need your car to be ready.
  • Receive your discounts in Mi Iberdrola

    We will calculate the energy charged to your vehicle using the settings made with the Advanced Smart Assistant. The difference between the cost of these charges managed according to your tariff and the promotional price of €0.05/kWh (excluding taxes) will be credited to your Mi Iberdrola credit.

Product information

Absolutely. Most households have a contracted power term of between 3 and 7 kW. In specific cases of higher consumption, for example, if you have a very powerful air-conditioning system or one that has to cover a lot of square metres, or a charging point for an electric vehicle, you may need more than 10 kW. In that case, these would be the prices applicable to your tariff.

The Advanced Smart Assistant is Iberdrola's solution that allows you to schedule your charges to get the promotional charging price.

No, when you sign up for the product, the Advanced Smart Assistant is automatically activated and will be available in the Iberdrola Customers App.

Your mobile phone must have an internet connection in order to configure the scheduled charges with the Advanced Smart Assistant. Your vehicle must also have sufficient coverage and connectivity to enable communication, management and monitoring of the charges.
If you do not link the Advanced Smart Assistant to your car, the car will be charged at the non-promotional price.
Consumption for the month will be billed at the contracted price for both home and car. The Advanced Smart Assistant's connectivity with the vehicle will allow Iberdrola to calculate the energy for scheduled charges at home. At Mi Iberdrola, we will refund you the difference between your tariff price and the promotional price of only €0.05/kWh (price excluding taxes), applied to all energy scheduled through the Advanced Smart Assistant.

There are a few reasons why your vehicle might charge right after you plug it in:
  • The Advanced Smart Assistant has started its charging plan, so everything is under control.
  • Some programming is causing the car to charge, such as a charging programme in the vehicle itself or charging programmes at the charging point. You must switch them off to ensure charging is managed by the Advanced Smart Assistant.
  • The Advanced Smart Assistant checks your vehicle at regular intervals to monitor its charge status. If the car is plugged in just after one of these checks, it could mean a delay of up to 7 minutes before we stop the charging.

Our charging plan will not affect your battery any more than regular charging. Electric vehicle batteries are designed to withstand this charging pattern and should also be covered by your vehicle's warranty.

To do this, you can use the ‘Start immediate manual charging’ button available in both the ‘Your Vehicle’ and ‘Devices’ sections.

Any charging schedules on both the vehicle and the charger must be deleted for the Assistant to work properly. External schedules may interfere with the Assistant's charging plan and cause charging to not proceed as expected.

The Advanced Smart Assistant is managed from the Iberdrola Clientes App.  It takes approximately 48 hours from the time of purchase for the feature to become active in the app.

Common Incidents

Please check that you have correctly registered all your devices. To do this, go to the Devices section, check that they are on the list shown and that they are working correctly.

This message can appear for different reasons. The most common are as follows:
  • Need to accept the terms and conditions of your electric vehicle's manufacturer in order to be able to communicate with the vehicle.
  • Need to re-register your vehicle in order to be able to communicate the Advanced Smart Assistant with it.
  • Need to re-register your vehicle due to a change of credentials in your vehicle account. But don't worry, the Advanced Smart Assistant will tell you the reason for the connection error on the screen itself.
The savings data will appear after a period of thirty days after the user completes the registration of the devices.
The Advanced Smart Assistant automatically detects the start of the charging session a few minutes after you plug in your electric vehicle. From there, it designs a customised charging plan based on your preferences: the desired battery percentage and the end time. It is prossible to stop the charge shortly adter it has started. This does not indicate an error, but is part of the Assistant's plan, which can schedule charging for later, optimising the process according to efficiency or energy cost criteria. The Assistant periodically monitors the status of the vehicle and adjusts the plan if it detects changes or new needs.

General Terms and Conditions
The regulated cost associated with the subsidised rate funding mechanism will be added to the cost: Fixed cost per customer (retail) of €0.006281549/day.
The taxes applicable at all times and which will be broken down on the bill will be: for the supply of electricity the Electricity Tax (5.113% or 2.5% or the minimum amount of €0.5/MWh or €1/MWh, or as applicable by law). and for the supply of gas the hydrocarbon tax (€0.00234/kWh or as applicable by law).
In addition, VAT is applied in mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands (21% or as applicable), IGIC (0%, 3% or 7% or as applicable) is applied in the Canary Islands and IPSI (1% or 4% or as applicable) is applied in Ceuta and Melilla. Insurance includes taxes (IPS), the Insurance Compensation Consortium surcharge and brokerage fees, which are not subject to VAT.
