Find out how electricity is generated and labelled

Since April 2008, electricity bills include information on the origin of the energy and its environmental impact, offering full transparency on the consumption in your home, community or company. This information is presented in standardised charts and labels, as established by the CNMC, and is based on the System of Guarantees of Origin.

Based on the mix of energy sources used in 2024 and the Guarantees of Origin held by our company, we have calculated and published our energy mix. This way, you will know what kind of energy you are consuming and how it affects the environment.

The origin of the electricity from the retailer

The electricity that reaches our homes comes from a combination of different energy sources. In the Spanish electricity system for 2024, this mix includes various production technologies. In the chart, we show you transparently the average national data and the specific breakdown of the energy mix used by Iberdrola's customers in 2024. You can compare the two figures and learn about our commitment to using more sustainable energy.
