For just €1.95/month (including tax) your electricity or gas contract bills will be insured in case of unemployment, temporary disability, hospitalisation, absolute and permanent disability or death, up to a maximum of €2,400. The coverage depends on your age and employment situation as described in the summary table on the website and in the insurance conditions.

Once the compensation has been received in case of a claim, you will not have to pay anything for your bills under the insured electricity or gas contract until the compensation amount has been used up.

It means that the insured person will be covered by one of these three types of coverage depending on their employment situation on the date of the claim:

  • Unemployment: employees with a permanent contract.
  • Temporary Incapacity: employees with a temporary, part-time or interim contract, self-employed and civil servants.
  • Hospitalisation: insured persons who are not actively working.

In addition to one of these three covers, the insured person will be covered for Absolute and Permanent Disability and Death.

Any residential customer with an energy contract (electricity and/or gas) with Iberdrola Customers.

You can sign up for the service by calling us on 900 110 011 or, if you prefer, by visiting your nearest service point. You can sign up for it using our app or on our website .

The one-year duration of the service is automatically renewed for consecutive one-year periods unless the client communicates otherwise by at least fifteen (15) days advance notice before the end of each period.

In case of a claim you must contact the insurer MetLife by email (siniestros-sp@metlife.es), on the phone number +34 91 725 00 77, from 09.00 to 19.00 hours, or by fax (+34 91 725 32 93).

Metlife will process the claim and communicate, where appropriate, the compensation to Iberdrola so that it can be transferred to the insured electricity or gas contract.

You can cancel at any time without any type of penalty.
