Diversity and Integration

A strategic objective at IBERDROLA entails the equality of opportunities, non-discrimination and respect for diversity. With a view to attaining this objective, we promote a favourable environment and assist in the reconciliation of private and professional life. In addition, we support our employees with handicaps, guaranteeing their effective occupation.

Along these lines, we have set out procedures to preclude any type of discrimination on grounds of:

At IBERDROLA, we consider working in cultural diversity to be essential. Thus, we have taken initiatives with a view to raising employee awareness on functional diversity, in such projects as “Awareness by and for equality and diversity”.

To achieve the integration of workers with diminished capacity, the Group companies are taking steps to adapt and facilitate access to the job of these workers, depending on the requirements and characteristics of the job and the needs of each situation measures concrete.

In Spain to help employees who have family members with disabilities, the Family Plan, which aims to facilitate the integration of these families in the workplace and society is maintained. In 2013, more than 88 employees have benefited from this initiative.

With a view to assisting employees who have family members with some sort of disability, there is the Family Plan, whose objective lies in helping these family members integrate into the labour and social world. In 2013, IBERDROLA has participated at:

  • In Spain, in addition to the agreements with foundations to achieve the employment of persons with disabilities, and contracts with special employment centers, has participated in several forums designed to promote non-discriminatory practices within firms, such as the Charter of Diversity, Diversity Foundation, etc.
  • IBERDROLA has collaborated in the project collaborated Enterprises by a society free of violence with the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality.
  • Sponsorship Program Con una sonrisa in collaboration with the Down Syndrome Foundation to help remove barriers that hinder the integration of people with intellectual disabilities.
