Last Resort Retailers and Last Resort Rate (gas)

In the case of natural gas, the consumer can choose the gas retailer. You can buy the gas at a deregulated price or at a regulated price (if your consumption is less than or equal to 50,000kWh/year).

Below we explain how rates at regulated prices work.

What does it consist of?

The Last Resort Rate (LRR) for gas is a rate set by the Government and which you can sign up for if you use less than 50,000kWh/year and you have a low-pressure gas supply. Most residential consumers meet these requirements

You can get this rate from one of the Last Resort Retailers (LRR) of gas.

There are two Last Resort Rates (at different prices) depending on your yearly usage:

  • LRR.1:

For consumption less than or equal to
    5,000 kWh a year

    Hot water
  • LRR.2:

    For low consumption between
    5,000 and 50,000 kWh a year

    Hot water + heating
