NSr1: UNPLANNED AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWNS FOR EVERY 7000 h (WANO UA7)

Graph showing IBERDROLA joint value calculated on the WANO UA7 (24 months) indicators of nuclear power plants weighted by IBERDROLA share power and ownership: 1.31 in 2007; 0.97 in 2008; 0.66 in 2009; 0.38 in 2010 and 0.35 in 2011.

IBERDROLA joint value calculated on the WANO UA7 (24 months) indicators of nuclear power plants weighted by IBERDROLA share power and ownership (http://www.wano.org.uk).

NSr2: NUMBER OF NOTIFIED EVENTS BY TYPE ACCORDING INES SCALE

Graph showing IBERDROLA joint value calculated on the events notified by the nuclear power plant weighted by IBERDROLA share power and ownership: 10.9 LO, 0 L1, 0 L2 in 2007; 6.7 LO, 0.1 L1, 0 L2 in 2008; 7.8 LO, 0.3 L1, 0 L2 in 2009; 6.2 LO, 0.4 L1, 0 L2 in 2010; 7.3 LO, 0.2 L1, 0 L2 in 2011.

IBERDROLA joint value calculated on the events notified by nuclear power plants weighted by IBERDROLA share power and ownership. Notified events according to the Safety Instruction IS-10 of the Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear (Nuclear Safety Council).

Annual values depend much on the number of refueling outages within the year and are subjected to normal statistical fluctuations: despite light increase in 2009, no adverse long trend is observed and actions continue to be taken to improve. The two year rolling average has improved last year.

NSr3: EFFECTIVE DOSE FOR CRITICAL GROUP (Public)(μSv)

Graph showing Max. and Min. Values for IBERDROLA nuclear fleet for the Effective Dose for the Critical Group: 5.41 max. and 1.58 min. in 2007; 15 max. and 0.67 min. in 2008; 7.09 max. and 1.47 min in 2009; 3.71 max. and 0.28 min in 2010 and 3.17 max. and 0.95 min. in 2011.

Max. and Min. Values for IBERDROLA nuclear fleet for the Effective Dose for the Critical Group.Year value corresponds to the accumulated one until December (12 consecutive months).

Each value is calculated taking into account actual releases and the impact of these over an ideal individual with the worst conditions in terms of exposure pathways (the sum of the worst case for every pathway), which represents very conservatively to the most exposed individual of the local community.

Actual annual values are very little fractions of the limits (between cents and mills) but depend much on the number of refueling outages within the year due to greater liquid releases during outages. Actions continue to be taken to optimize the efluent releases.

NSr3: COLLECTIVE DOSE (WANO CRE) (Workers) Sv-Person

Graph showing IBERDOLA joint value calculated on the WANO indicators of Nuclear CRE weighted share of power and property and considering its fuel cycle: 1.53 in 2007; 1.68 in 2008; 1.19 in 2009; 0.90 in 2010 and 1.01 in 2011.

IBERDOLA joint value calculated on the WANO indicators of Nuclear CRE weighted share of power and property and considering its fuel cycle (http://www.wano.org.uk).

Variations around these very small fractions of limiting values are much influenced by the number of refueling outages during the year.

NWr1: GENERATED AND CONDITIONED WASTE OF LOW AND MEDIUM ACTIVITY (m3)

Graph showing IBERDROLA joint value calculated on the amount of generated waste of low and medium activity and packed in each plant weighted by IBERDROLA share power and ownership: 119.36 in 2007; 109.17 in 2008; 124.12 in 2009; 108.52 in 2010 and 109.17 in 2011.

IBERDROLA joint value calculated on the amount of generated waste of low and medium activity and packed in each plant weighted by IBERDROLA share power and ownership.

Annual values depend much on the number of refueling outages within the year and are subjected to normal statistical fluctuations: the value obtained in 2009 is higher than previous years due to the coincidence of a number of refueling outages. Particularly outages of Cofrentes and Garoña which are the most contributing plants to this indicator due to their kind of technology (BWR). Actions continue to be taken to reduce the volume of waste generated.

NWr2: CUMULATIVE SPENT FUEL (tU INITIAL)

Graph showing IBERDROLA joint value calculated on the amount of initial U of each element in the fuel pool at each plant weighted by IBERDROLA share power and ownership: 480 in 2007; 488 in 2008; 519 in 2009; 528 in 2010 and 556 in 2011.

IBERDROLA joint value calculated on the amount of initial U of each element in the fuel pool at each plant weighted by IBERDROLA share power and ownership.

Cumulative value obviously increses every year and annual value fluctuates annualy because depend much on the number of refueling outages within the year; this value improved last decades due to burnup optimimization and last years leveled off.

NWr2: ANNUAL SPENT FUEL (tU INITIAL)

Graph showing IBERDROLA joint value calculated on the amount of initial U of each element discharged annualy in the fuel pool at each plant weighted by IBERDROLA share power and ownership: 28 in 2007; 8 in 2008; 31 in 2009; 9 in 2010 and 28 in 2011.

IBERDROLA joint value calculated on the amount of initial U of each element discharged annualy in the fuel pool at each plant weighted by IBERDROLA share power and ownership.

Cumulative values obviously increase every year and annual values fluctuate annually because depend much on the number of refueling outages within the year; these values improved last decades due to burnup optimimization and last years leveled off.

NWr3: AMOUNT OF DECOMMISSIONING WASTE (t)

Graph showing currently there's no IBERDROLA Nuclear Power Plants in decommissioning: 2,031 in 2007; 2,031 in 2008; 2,031 in 2009; 2,031 in 2010; 2,031 in 2,012.

Spent Fuel from Maine Yankee, Yankee Rowe and Connecticut Yankee is considered in this indicator. These spent fuel elements are stored in one ISFSI per site, waiting for USA Federal Goverment to remove it.
