  • The selected projects must be carried out at universities or research centres located in Spain
  • The programme is open to young researchers specialising in energy and the environment
  • The financial contribution can reach a maximum amount of 20,000 euros per project

The Fundación IBERDROLA has announced today the first edition of the Energy for Research programme, which implements a new line of activity aimed at contributing to the development of young researchers in the area of energy and moving towards a sustainable energy model that meets the needs of society and contributes to the protection of the environment and the fight against climate change.

This new programme is open to young researchers specialising in the following areas: renewable energy sources, sustainable energy system, environment and biodiversity, clean combustion technologies, emissions management and carbon capture, energy efficiency, energy storage, electric vehicles and smart grids.

The Fundación IBERDROLA will grant up to 10 aid packages within the Energy for Research programme, with a maximum amount of 20,000 euros per project for a one-year period.

To be eligible for this financial aid, the applicants must study at research centres or universities located in Spain. Interested researchers should submit their applications by 30 April. They can consult the announcement’s terms and conditions on the website www.fundacioniberdrola.org

In order to select the beneficiaries of this plan, the Fundación IBERDROLA will set up an Assessment Committee comprising specialists in each of the areas of study. The aspects that will be taken into account include the student’s record and experience of each candidate, the experience in the subject under study, innovation, the scientific-technical quality, and the viability and applicability of the project.

With this new initiative, the Fundación IBERDROLA continues to strengthen its support for the education of professionals who are capable of moving towards a model that meets the energy needs of society and contributes to the protection of the environment.
