The IBERDROLA Bus welcomed a total of 98,043 visitors in the year 2010, a figure that represents a 25% increase on the previous year. The company's green vehicle travelled to around 60 locations throughout Spain.
IBERDROLA opened the doors of its bus to various groups: schools and training centres, cultural institutions, media, corporate groups and consumers' associations. The company's employees were also given the opportunity to visit the bus.
Around 15,300 people belonging to 893 groups of various characteristics - students, housewives, disabled, cultural associations and the elderly - visited this vehicle.
The IBERDROLA Bus registered an average of over 8,100 visitors per month, with December being the month when more people visited the vehicle (33,500). In terms of visitor profile, children under the age of 13 represented 39% of the visits, with 30% being in the 25-60 year age bracket.
The company kicked off its Environmental Campaign for the year 2010 in February, with the main aim of promoting among its customers and in society in general a commitment to sustainable development, which is one of the hallmarks of IBERDROLA.
The IBERDROLA Bus has been travelling around Spain since the year 2005 with the aim of strengthening the Group's ties with society, especially in the autonomous regions where it operates, and of strengthening its brand values: respect for the environment and a commitment to innovation and internationalisation.
The company's green vehicle is stocked with various audiovisual tools that enable visitors to participate in interactive activities aimed at heightening their awareness of how important it is to use energy responsibly.
IBERDROLA has installed a 60" plasma screen, 3D image viewers, a video-DVD player and a stereo system to screen informative and educational films related to environmental issues and renewable energies.
The IBERDROLA Bus is equipped with five computers with an Internet connection and a photocopier, scanner and printer. These resources will give visitors access to advice about the environment and allow them to take part in games.
