The most important initiatives adopted by IBERDROLA in the past years as regards Corporate Social Responsibility are as follows:

2012

IBERDROLA approves its CSR Plan for the period 2013-2014.

2011

IBERDROLA, together with another five major companies in the IBEX35, sets up the Corporate Excellence Foundation - Centre for Reputation Leadership, a think-tank dedicated to promoting the management of intangibles as a strategic value for excellence in business.

2010

The Board of Directors of IBERDROLA sets up the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, with information, advisory and proposal-making powers within its scope of action.

2009

New Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) indicators for the electricity sector are added to the Sustainability Report.

IBERDROLA is one of the signatories to the Global Round Table on Climate Change.

2008

Presentation of the 2007 Sustainability Report for public scrutiny by an Independent Expert Committee from outside the company.

Application of the methodology of the internationally recognised London Benchmarking Group (LBG) to IBERDROLA’s social contribution programmes.

2007

Presentation of the 2006 Sustainability Report audited according to the limited insurance level established by the standard ISAE 3000 with regard to the application of the criteria of standard AA1000 AS and of the Global Reporting Initiative Guide (GRI).

Commitment to the Millennium Development Goals, through the Forum of Corporate Reputation, with the initiative “A better world for Joana”.

Participation, as founding member, in the creation of the group LBG-Spain, to apply the methodology for measuring corporate contributions to the community, developed by LBG.

2005

Presentation of a Sustainability Report with external verification of compliance with GRI guidelines for the presentation of information in Sustainability Reports.

2004

Inclusion of information on Corporate Social Responsibility in the Group’s Annual Report.

Participation in the constitutional meeting for the Spanish Association for the Global Compact (ASEPAM).

2003

Incorporation into the Forum of Corporate Reputation.

2002

Adherence to the United Nations World Pact.

Participation, as Founding Partner, in the Club of Excellence in Sustainability.

2001

Incorporation to the DJSI STOXX Index of the European Stock Exchange. It had previously been listed on the New York Stock Exchange’s Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
