IBERDROLA´S CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY

Social initiatives in collaboration with organisations from both the government and civil society are an important part of IBERDROLA’s engagement with the community. Detailed information on these activities can be found in both the annual reports and on the corporate websites of IBERDROLA’s subsidiary and affiliate companies in Spain, United Kingdom, USA and Brazil.

Corporate volunteer

Among the numerous social initiatives carried out, it is worth highlighting the corporate volunteer programme that has been under way for several years, and through which IBERDROLA promotes corporate volunteer work among its employees. This is a way of putting into practice the vision and values of the Company in the areas of improving people’s quality of life and in the care of the environment. These practices are aimed at:

  • reinforcing the sense of belonging and improving the working environment,
  • contributing to the employee’s ethical education, encouraging solidarity
  • and promoting the values of participation, commitment, responsibility and teamwork, among others.

One of the fundamental areas of the corporate volunteer program is the international volunteer portal, a website where people can meet to share experiences and reinforce the global volunteer community in the Group. The portal is currently available in Portuguese, Spanish and English, and has obtained an AA accessibility level, thus enabling universal access to the website and its contents.

Fundación IBERDROLA

A key organisation for carrying out this type of actions is the Fundación IBERDROLA, which enables the materialisation of the IBERDROLA’s Group commitment to society by means of the development of initiatives that effectively contribute to improving people’s quality of life in the territories and countries where IBERDROLA Group is active, particularly in the field of training and research, energy sustainability and biodiversity, arts and culture, as well as in solidarity and social action.

The objectives and programmes of the Fundación IBERDROLA can be found on the website www.fundacioniberdrola.org.
