Promoting Training

Faith in training is a key part of the human resource policy at IBERDROLA. It is an essential element for:

  • Enabling employees to be effective and efficient in performing their duties.
  • Procuring adaptation to the organisational and technological needs in employees' jobs.
  • Boosting employee expectations of promotion and professional development.

At IBERDROLA, we work so that our employees can secure the training they need not only for meeting the current requirements for their job description, but also for satisfying future needs in view of the onset of new technologies, equipment, instruments, etc., or even the need to assume greater responsibilities in their area of activity.

In 2012, IBERDROLA imparted over 1 million hours of training to its employees, which represents a 53% increase in relation to the previous year. In line with its commitment to the professional excellence of its team, in 2011 the Company organised 37,486 courses, which were attended by more than 162,000 professionals.

The training objectives focused on the international spark for development activities, particularly in the:

  • Perform a greater number of courses related technical training accounted for 57% of the total
  • Provide training in prevention and occupational health & safety accounted for 20% of the total
  • Improve language-learning
  • Help develop the skills of our workers in various fields such as information technology, quality management, etc..

In 2011, IBERDROLA surpassed 1.2 million hour training mark
