As part of its sponsorship for the Spanish National Football Team, Iberdrola has launched various initiatives to draw attention to the team and promote the important role that sport plays in society.
IBERDROLA became the main sponsor of the Spanish National Football Team in 2009, after entering into an agreement with the Royal Spanish Football Federation. The company shares important values with the world champions: confidence, warmth, teamwork, responsibility, effort and perseverance in becoming leaders at international level.
One of the most important initiatives launched by Iberdrola is the travelling exhibition "La Energía de la Roja" (The Energy of the Spanish National Football Team), which has the main aim of bringing the world champions closer to the general public in advance of the UEFA EURO 2012™ tournament, which will be held in June and July, in Poland and the Ukraine.
This road show, which was launched in Salamanca with a visit from the coach,Vicente del Bosque, is travelling to various towns and cities throughout Spain, with a mobile unit measuring 140 sq. m offering activities for visitors of all ages.
Members of the public that visit the Iberdrola mobile unit will be able to have their photograph taken with the World Cup, see the best videos and photos of the Spanish National Football Team, do colouring activities or play football-themed video games, table football games, etc.
Also as part of this sponsorship, Iberdrola has launched the official website www.laenergiadelaroja.com to publicise the latest news about the team. On this website, which includes a radio station called La Radio de la Roja (The Spanish National Football Team Radio), the company will be sharing information on the matches,the results and the rankings, as well as photos and videos featuring the players.
Facebook and Twitter profiles have also been set up to complete the offering in Iberdrola's initiative "La Energía de la Roja" (The Energy of the Spanish National Football team) and inform the public on the day-to-day news on the team.
