With the holding of the IBERDROLA Environmental Forums, the Company wishes to be apprised of its interest groups’ concerns and perceptions with regard to actions performed in the area of the environment and biodiversity.
Biodiversity, climate change, energy efficiency and environmental management are some of the key issues addressed in the forums held by the Group in Spain and in Scotland by ScottishPower. The opinions and suggestions collected at each Environmental Forum serve to promote the use of the best practices in IBERDROLA's environmental area, to optimize its management and to favour the search for solutions to problems related to the natural environment.
This initiative, that reinforces IBERDROLA´s commitment to its surroundings, relies on the participation of a workgroup composed of external experts from nongovernmental organizations, academic institutions, research centres, the media or customers, amongst others.
Likewise, various managers of the Company's principal areas participate in the meeting: Network Business, Renewables Business, Deregulated Business, Environment, Corporate Reputation, Regulation, Fundación IBERDROLA and representatives of IBERDROLA Ingeniería.
The implementation of the Environmental Forum is a pioneering initiative, which reaffirms IBERDROLA’s firm commitment to the protection and care of the environment, with the implementation of actions which enable the company to attain the environmental objectives established in Environmental and Biodiversity Policies.
